It’s that time of year again…Christmas; and apart from Christmas day itself one thing we all look forward to is the work’s party. We all want to look our best and this time of year sees a lot of people wanting to lose that elusive stone and get into that gorgeous dress or smart suit without cutting off their blood supply.Crash dieting is not the answer!! If you make some sensible tweaks to your current daily habits then it’s not too late. As a general rule you should consume between 1500-2000 calories per day. Carbohydrates should be kept to a maximum of 40% of your daily intake cutting the refined carbohydrates such as cake, biscuits, white bread and pasta down to a minimum. The rest of your calories should come from 30% protein and 30% fats. Once you have your nutrition sorted, the next step is your training.You should be looking to burn at least 250 calories four to five times per week, and in a one hour personal training session or fitness class with me you would burn between 500-700 calories.If you start now and continue with your new found lifestyle, you will be a calorie burning machine come Christmas. This will give you a massive advantage when it comes to the New Year!
